The Fred Leighton Round™ is a proprietary diamond cut that perfects the understated elegance and charm of antique diamonds with modern engineering. Based on the old European cut that reigned from 1890-1930, the Fred Leighton Round is more brilliant than a vintage stone, dazzling with fire and charisma. Here, we feature the unique cut in a solitaire pendant inspired by the Georgian era, set in an 18K yellow gold collet, topped with silver, and secured by elegant prongs. This two-metal technique dates to the late 1700s, when jewelers favored white metal to enhance a diamond’s sparkle. Since platinum and white gold had yet to be introduced, silver was the only option — but it tarnished over time. To protect skin and fabric from staining, artisans backed the silver with gold, a detail preserved in this design.
